Hey Chick

 Hello stampers, and even non-stampers!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I have another card to share with you.  Today's card is a big ore of a process than most of my cards, but I really wanted to change things up a bit and I couldn't wait to make a cute chicken card!

How To:

Start with a card base of your choosing.  I chose daffodil delight.   Next, I used a piece of DSP from the In Good Taste pack and adhered that to my card base to make a mat for the next panel.  You will see in the picture that I used the same piece of DSP for the panel as I did for the little wood sign that I will mention again soon.  Next I took a panel of basic white to make my scene.  I die cut one corn stalk (garden green), three corn husks (pear pizzazz) and corn cobs (daffodil delight), and the little sign. I set these pieces aside.  Then, using the new (and amazing) blending brushes, I blended some pear pizzazz and pool party onto the white card panel to look like sky and ground. I left some space between the colors, so you will see some white as well.  You can blend yours to meet up so that there is no white if you like.

After I finished blending, I adhered the stalk to the panel on the left side and adhere the husks and corn cobs together, then adhered to the stalk.  You can use any method to adhere them that works for you.  I used a combination of multi purpose glue and glue dots.  I then stamped (in memento) "Hey Chick" on the sign and one of the chickens from the Hey Chick stamp set.  This stamp set was available in the past and was brought back recently, this time with dies!  I chose to keep my chicken super simple in coloring as I already had a good amount of color going on. To color the chicken, I used my stampin' blends.  Daffodil delight for the beak, calypso coral for the comb and wattle, and smokey slate for the feathered areas, including the wing.  I die cut the chicken and adhered it to the right of the cornstalk using stampin' dimensionals.  I adhered the sign to be behind the chicken and my finishing touch was some linen thread tied twice around the sky area of the panel and tied it into a bow.  The panel is then adhered to the card base and our card is complete!

Dimensions:

* 8.5" x 5.5" daffodil delight, folded in half at 4.25"
* 5.25" x 4" In Good Taste DSP
* 4.75" x 3.5" basic white
* scraps of daffodil delight, pear pizzazz, garden green, basic white, and the same DSP from before

Card featuring True Love DSP

 Hello stampers!  Thanks for checking in on today's card!  The layout for this card is great as it can be used with so many colors, stamps, sentiments, etc!   Let's dive right in!

How to:

Fold your half sheet of card stock to make your card base.  I used calypso coral here.  Then, using daffodil delight, emboss a card panel using the painted textures embossing folder.  Adhere this panel to your card base.  Next, cut all your other pieces and adhere them together.  I used calypso coral for the thin rectangle, daffodil delight for the square, and a piece of the True Love DSP for the large rectangle,  I put a black mat behind each of them, with the matting behind the thin rectangle piece only showing black on the long sides.  Once these pieces are adhere to their mat, adhere the large rectangle first, towards the left center.  Next, adhere the thin rectangle about a third of the way up from the bottom of the last piece you adhered.  Next, adhere the square, having it overlap both rectangles.  (See picture.)   Stamp your sentiment and image that you want to use.  I used a flower from the True Love DSP and my stampin' blends to color them (calypso coral- light and dark, and daffodil delight- light and dark).  I then fussy cut the image out and used stampin' dimensionals to adhere it to the square.  I used a stamped die cut piece form the Many Messages bundle as my sentiment.  To finish, I added 3 small wood pieces from the In Good Taste Elements using mini glue dots.

Dimensions:

* 8.5" x 5.5" calypso coral, folded at 4.25"
* 4" x 5.25" daffodil delight
* 2.25" x 3.5" True Love DSP with black mat sized at 2 3/8" x 3 5/8"
* 1" x 4" calypso coral with black mat sized at 1 1/8" x 4"
* 2.25" squared with black mat sized at 2 3/8" squared
* Scrap of white for sentiment and image (if choosing to stamp an image)
* Flower image from True Love DSP (if choosing to use this as your image)

I really like how this turned out!  I wouldn't normally put these colors together, as I am not really that "bold".  But I think they work super well here!  Let me know what you think in the comments!

Catalog Case

 Hi there!  Here's another CASEd card from one of our catalogs!  I found the original card on page 35  of the mini catalog.  I used some different items but kept the main idea of the stitched circles.

How To:

Cut and fold your card base.  I used Pool Party.  Cut a white panel and die cut 6 stitched shape circles from DSP of your choice.  I used the Flower and Field DSP that can be earned during Sale-A-Bration.  Arrange your circles onto you card base (see photo) and adhere down once you are happy with their placement.  Adhere the panel to the card base.  Stamp and die cut your sentiment.  I used the Many Messages Bundle.  Add some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon by making a double bow and place in the center.  Cut a strip of card stock to match your card base and punch the ends using the Lovely Labels pick a punch.  Adhere this piece over the ribbon, then adhere your sentiment onto the punched strip.  Add pearls and your card is complete!   You can view a video of this card being made here.

Dimensions:

* Pool Party cut at 8.5" x 5.5", folded at 4.25"
* Basic White cut at 4" x 5.25"
* DSP of your choice
* .75" strip of Pool Party

That's it!  I will likely make this card again, but will leave off the pearls and maybe use baker's twine instead of the ribbon.  What might you do differently?

As always, I would love to be your demonstrator!

"Let Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear" card

 Hi!  So glad you could join me!  Today I want to share a quick card with you that could be done in so many colors and with so many different stamp sets.  I love cards that are versatile and easily changed.

How To:

Fold your card stock in half to make your card base.  Here I use basic white.  Take your Blackberry Bliss cardstock and emboss using the Subtle embossing folder then adhere to the card base.  Next take your square piece of DSP and adhere it to the center.  Adhere the next piece of DSP (rectangular shaped) to the center of this.  Stamp and die cut your sentiment.  I used the sentiment, "Let faith be bigger than your fear" from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set.  The die shape is the second to largest of the circles in the Stitched Shapes dies.  Adhere this piece to the center of your card using dimensionals.  I then added some Wink of Stella by smacking it against my take you pick tool (you can use a bone folder, or pen or something similar).  Finally, I added some basic rhinestones and some smacks of clear Wink of Stella (which you can't really see in the picture) and my card is complete!

Dimensions:

* Basic White 8.5" x 5.5", scored and folded at 4.25 inches
* Blackberry Bliss 4.75" x 3.5"
* True Love DSP 3" x 3"
* Oh So Ombre DSP 2.5" x 4"
* Basic White scrap for sentiment
