Hello stampers, and even non-stampers! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I have another card to share with you. Today's card is a big ore of a process than most of my cards, but I really wanted to change things up a bit and I couldn't wait to make a cute chicken card!
How To:
Start with a card base of your choosing. I chose daffodil delight. Next, I used a piece of DSP from the In Good Taste pack and adhered that to my card base to make a mat for the next panel. You will see in the picture that I used the same piece of DSP for the panel as I did for the little wood sign that I will mention again soon. Next I took a panel of basic white to make my scene. I die cut one corn stalk (garden green), three corn husks (pear pizzazz) and corn cobs (daffodil delight), and the little sign. I set these pieces aside. Then, using the new (and amazing) blending brushes, I blended some pear pizzazz and pool party onto the white card panel to look like sky and ground. I left some space between the colors, so you will see some white as well. You can blend yours to meet up so that there is no white if you like.
After I finished blending, I adhered the stalk to the panel on the left side and adhere the husks and corn cobs together, then adhered to the stalk. You can use any method to adhere them that works for you. I used a combination of multi purpose glue and glue dots. I then stamped (in memento) "Hey Chick" on the sign and one of the chickens from the Hey Chick stamp set. This stamp set was available in the past and was brought back recently, this time with dies! I chose to keep my chicken super simple in coloring as I already had a good amount of color going on. To color the chicken, I used my stampin' blends. Daffodil delight for the beak, calypso coral for the comb and wattle, and smokey slate for the feathered areas, including the wing. I die cut the chicken and adhered it to the right of the cornstalk using stampin' dimensionals. I adhered the sign to be behind the chicken and my finishing touch was some linen thread tied twice around the sky area of the panel and tied it into a bow. The panel is then adhered to the card base and our card is complete!
