Make and Mail Monday! "Sending Sunshine"

Hello fellow stampers, crafters, card makers, and friends!  Thank you so much for coming to my blog!  I hope that you had a fantastic weekend.

Today, I am announcing a new "venture" so to speak.  I typically post a project on Fridays, but have decided to add Mondays to the mix as well.  Fridays I just do my usual sharing of a card I made.  Mondays will be similar to that, but the added feature that I am excited for is the MAIL part.  Each Monday after I post the video and blog post, you can enter my drawing for that particular card to be mailed to you (or someone of your choosing- though you must have permission to share their address with me)!  All you need to do to enter is "Like" AND comment on the video of that specific card.  You must "like" (thumbs up) AND comment and it must be on the actual video (here) within the YouTube platform.

So today's card is the first of this venture.  I can't wait to see who it gets mailed too!  Let's get started with the card.

How To:

Cut, emboss, and fold your pieces according to the dimensions listed below. Using the small white panel, stamp the following images.  First ink up the largest water image in the Sending Sunshine stamp set in pool party.  Stamp this off on a scrap piece of paper then stamp the 2nd generation onto your card panel near the center.  Next, ink up smaller water image in pool party, stamping off onto scrap paper like the first time, and stamp the 2nd generation onto the card, lining it up with the stamped image already in place.  Next, ink up the sun image in daffodil delight and line up with the image on your panel and stamp down.

Next, take some post it notes and line them up with the horizon of the water image so that only the sun is showing.  Use a blending brush, blend some pool party to be "sky".  Tips: after you ink up your blending brush, blot it off on scrap paper before putting it to your panel.  Start at the very top of your panel and blend down, leaving a semi circle around the sun.  Do this lightly.  You can always add more color if needed, but you can't take color way!   Next, use a blending brush to add some daffodil delight to the area around the sun.  Don't go into the blue too much or you may get some green.

Next, we are going to do some blending at the bottom.  (In the video, I may do this all in a different order.  No worries.  Do it in whatever order works best for you!)  Stamp the largest water onto a post it note.  Cut around the image and use it to mask off the water on your panel.  It won't cover all of it, but it will cover enough.  Now, get a new blending brush (I try to use one brush per color family)  and ink it up with Sahara Sand.  Blend this onto the bottom, just like you did the top.  You can put as much or as little color as you like. Remove the post it notes and admire your work thus far.

Now for some more stamping.  Using the little little plant piece and garden green, stamp a few of these around the sandy area.  Then stamp, in Sahara Sand, the little piece that looks like dirt or pebbles around the sandy area of your card.  Again, as much or as little as you like.

Using the piece that looks like the clouds, do a 2nd generation stamp into the sky a few times. I also used one of the long pieces that looks like either clouds or sand (who knows! lol)  and did a few of these also in Smoky Slate, second generation.

Your panel is complete.  Let's stamp the inside panel real quick.  Using Sahara Sand, ink blend the bottom of the bottom to get that beach/sand look.  Stamp a few plants and rocks, just like you did on the front panel.  Choose your sentiment: I used Sending you sunshine.  I stamped this using Memento Black.  Your inside panel is complete.

Adhere the inside panel, to your card base.  Adhere the outside panel to the Daffodil Delight panel.  Take a piece of linen thread ad wrap it around the bottom and tie in a small bow.  Use a glue dot to help keep it in place, if you feel this is necessary (I typically do).  Adhere the embossed panel to the front of your card base, then using stampin' dimensionals, adhere the entire stamped and matted panel to the card base. Your card is now complete!
