Hello fellow stampers, crafters, card makers, and friends! Thank you so much for coming to my blog! I hope that you had a fantastic weekend. Today is my second Make and Mail Monday. The card today takes some time, but is super cute and can be cut down on time by making the coloring less involved or have no coloring at all. Let's get started with the card.
How To:
Cut your pieces as described in the dimensions section below. Then, stamp the front of the card base with the All Wired Up background stamp. I used Smoky Slate to do this. (You can use a large block or a stamping platform. In my video I used a Misti, but only because I am waiting for my Stamparatus to arrive!) Set the card base aside. Now, you have some stamping to do! Stamp on scrap Basic White using Memento Black, one each of the three chickens in the Hey Chick stamp set. While stamping, you can also stamp the inside panel using the chick in the Hey Birthday Chick set that is eating a cupcake. Add the little baby chick coming out of the egg on top of that chick. Stamp any sentiment that you may want on the inside panel (I chose not to add one) and stamp the Happy Birthday from the Hey Birthday Chick to the front of the card base, top left, bottom left, and center right. (See picture below.) I used Memento Black in the video, but you can choose to use any color that coordinates.
Now we color! I used the following Stampin' Blends: Calypso Coral dark and light, Bermuda Bay dark, Granny Apple Green light, Pool Party light, So Saffron dark and light, Smoky slate dark and light, and the color lifter. I colored the top right chicken (see picture) with light So Saffron for the beak and light Smoky Slate for the feathering. I colored the bottom right chicken with the light So Saffron, light Calypso Coral, and light Pool Party. I colored the tall chicken and the inside panel chicken with light Smoky Slate, dark Smoky Slate, Dark Bermuda Bay, dark Calypso Coral, and light Granny Apple Green plus the color lifter. (For more details, view my video here.)
Now that they are all colored, you can die cut them using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I used the small rectangle that is closer to a square on the two chicken that I placed on the right. The chicken that I placed on the left was die cut using the second smallest rectangle die that is stacked in the largest stack. ( This is a terrible explanation- sorry!)
Using Stampin Dimensionals, adhere the die cut chickens to the front of your card base (see picture). Add some Bumble Bee Ribbon to the far left of your card and tie a knot. I also added some glue dots to help secure the ribbon in place. Use some Stampin Seal to adhere the inside panel and your card is complete!
