Hello fellow crafters, stampers, and friends! Today I made a card featuring the Gorgeous Posies stamp set. This set is retiring soon, so if you like it and don't have it, please shop my online store to get your set before it is gone! Personally, I didn't really think much of this set when I first saw it and didn't plan on getting it. But then I won it through an event my upline held. When I got it, I decided to buy the card kit that coordinates and have since used this stamp set several times. It makes quick, pretty flowers and has some lovely sentiments.
Let's get started on today's card. View the video here.
How to:
Cut your papers to size (see dimensions below). Using the white panel, line up some washi tape, post it note tape, or something similar to separate the top 1/3 or so of your paper. (If using washi tape, consider sticking it onto your hand or arm first to help make it less tacky. Often times, washi can rip the card stock without this step.) Next, use your blending brush to very lightly blend coastal cabana along the entire top section that you have taped off. You will want to be very light with this, as you will be stamping over this with a light color. A good tip is to pick up ink with the blending brush, then blend a bit out onto scrap paper before placing your brush onto your card.
After you have done your blending, stamp the large flower image in mango melody in the top section. I stamped 3 times (see picture below). I then used granny apple green to stamp the leaves and the veins of the leaves. Have a post it note or scrap paper handy so that you don't stamp into the lower white section of your card. I also used a mask to cover one of the flowers so get the leaves to be close without going over the flower. (To make a mask, stamp the image you want to cover onto a post it note or scrap paper. Fussy cut the image out- the closer to the image the better. Then cover your image on your project and stamp. When you take the mask off, you will see your first stamped image is not stamped over.)
I stamped the dotted center image for the flowers in StazOn black as well as the sentiment "Get well soon" onto a piece of scrap white. I die cut the sentiment out using the smallest circle in the stitched shapes dies. (Also retiring. If you don't have these, you NEED them!) I adhered the sentiment to the punched 1.5" black circle. I took the washi tape off my panel and adhered the 1/4" black strip to line up with the bottom of the stamped/blended area (trim as needed). (You could use a ribbon here, but I wanted a solid black strip and don't have a solid black ribbon.) I then popped up the sentiment over the center of the strip. Finally, adhere the stamped panel to the black mat, then adhere the entire thing to the mango melody card base. Your card is complete!

Well, that's the card for today! I hope you like it and are inspired by it. You can certainly make this card using other images and color combos. That's one of the many things I love about stamping and card making! Don't have a demonstrator? I'd love to be yours!
