Hello fellow stampers, crafters, and friends! Today I want to share with you another card that features some of our amazing products that will be retiring. I have been enjoying using retiring items. It gives me a bit of a push to use products that I may not have done much with yet and the opportunity to share them with you! I made two card in the same basic style but tweaked a few things including the color palette. I'll posts pictures of both below and you can view the video here. Let's get started.
How To:
Cut all of your pieces to the specifications listed below in the "Dimensions" section of this post. Adhere the pattern strips* to the small mat. I tend to adhere the outside pieces first then the center, so that I can line them all up a bit better. Run your large panel/mat through your embossing machine using the subtle embossing folder*. Adhere this panel to your card base and set aside. Using the playful alphabet dies, cut out the word HAPPY from the small strip. Save the insides of the P's and A to adhere to your card and set the letters aside for another project.
Using multi-purpose liquid glue, adhere the strip that says HAPPY to the pattern strip piece- I placed mine about . Then line up and adhere the tiny center of the letters that you saved. Stamp the word "birthday" from any set you choose in your coordinating color on a basic white scrap. I used Calypso Coral in my video. (The birthday sentiment should be fairly small. I used one from the Birthday Chick stamp set.) Cut this sentiment out. I cut nice and close. Pop this up with stampin dimensionals and add to your card under the HAPPY. Add dimensionals to the entire pattern pattern panel and then adhere to the card base. Add some playing with patterns resin dots* to complete your card. (In my original card, I used coordinating playful patterns ribbon* to made a bow instead of using the resin dots.)
** The items that have an asterisk* are retiring items. These items are while supplies last or until May 3rd, whichever comes first.
* 8.5" x 5.5" folded at 4.25" Calypso Coral card stock
* 5.25" x 4" Calypso Coral card stock
* 3.25" x 3 5/8" Crushed Curry
* 3.75" x 1" strips of pattern paper (3 of these)
*4" x 1" crushed curry (for die cut piece)
* scrap of basic white
* 5.25" x 4" basic white panel (for inside)
